Letter from David Walker... A major part of Walker Ceramics market has been in Queensland and in my many sales trips I found a dedication to the art of ceramics from both individuals and production potteries that was inspiring.
My enthusiasm for pottery and ceramics continues today with my patronage of Suncoast Clayworkers - an amazing group of dedicated potters/ceramists who continue to share and develop information to grow their group and increase the public perception of ceramics in the broader community. I am truly proud to be associated with this group.
I am looking forward to this year’s Spring Fever to spend some time with all the members & their guests and absorbing the enthusiasm for ceramics from the event as a whole. I am proud to be their Patron and look forward to a long relationship.
As I said at Spring Fever 2004, it is the open sharing of ideas, styles, techniques and knowledge between all members of the group that gives the group it's strength and intensity. I do hope that there are many more events by Suncoast Clayworkers and other groups around Australia as it can only be good for ceramics and the arts society as a whole.
