In October 2006 Suncoast Clayworkers lost one of it’s greatest supporters.

Sue Johnson was not a potter; she always wanted to be a singer or an actress but as fate would have it she was to be neither.  Her strong love of the arts was what  led her to her association with Suncoast Clayworkers.

She was Mr. Graham Juniper’s personal assistant and in this role she became involved with the Carnival Of The Arts that was held on the Esplanade at Mooloolaba in 2002.

As a member of the organizing committee she helped produce an art event that was an outstanding success. She developed a close friendship with Jackie Gasson, and from there Sue was always willing to support our organization and its members in whatever way she could.

She knew what effort and dedication it took to be an artist and with this in mind we honour her memory with this perpetual encouragement award.
