AIMS
· To
acknowledge the contribution of Geoffrey Walker to
Australian ceramics, with the presentation of a
grant of up to $500 to a member of Suncoast
Clayworkers of more than 12 months standing, to
undertake further skill development.
· To
increase the skills development and resources of
Suncoast Clayworkers members.
CONCEPT
The skills
development program to be undertaken must be one
that is relevant and acceptable to Suncoast
Clayworkers management committee. The program may be
of a local, state, national or international origin.
The grant
cannot
be used for
· The
self promotion of the applicant, their work or their
studio.
· The
purchase of ceramic materials or equipment (except
if included in program fees).
· Any
subscriptions or membership of other organizations.
The recipient of the
grant must undertake in writing, to conduct a skills
transfer workshop, demonstration or lecture
(including the production of printed notes) within 3
months of the completion of the skills development
program. This will be done at no cost to Suncoast
Clayworkers in regard to tutorial fees.
All applications must
be made in writing on the application form. The
application must outline the nature of the selected
skills, the duration of the program, its location,
its facilitator and the costs involved.
The grant
applications will be assessed by both David Walker,
our patron and a committee of Suncoast
Clayworkers financial
members appointed by the management committee. Their
recommendation(s) will be passed on to the
management committee for ratification. Their
decision is final and no correspondence will be
entered into.
The grant application
forms will close on March 30th each year.
The grant must be
used within 12 months of the awarding of the grant.
The successful grant
winner will be notified by the last Friday in April.
If the cost of the successful
application is less than $500, the committee may
award a second grant at their discretion.
